| May 31, 2010 Congratulations to Louise Johnson of Windham Vermont. Winner of a $50 gift certificate to the WWHQS! May 27, 2010 June Classes  Our Tulip Wall Hanging Welcomes You! Happy Birthday, Waterwheel House! This weekend we will celebrate our first birthday. We opened last year on April 19th. We had to wait a month for our party due to vacations and such. It has been so hot here in Vermont the past few days, that we had to have the air-conditioning on at the shop. This Memorial Day Weekend should be much cooler and just gorgeous! On Friday and Saturday we will offer special sales, a drawing for a $50 gift certificate, door prizes and give-aways, not to mention refreshments! We hope to see a lot of our friends and customers who have helped to make our first year in business, just fantastic! Thank you, Thank you! Our schedule of classes for June is now available at the shop. Call us if you would like to have one mailed to you. Among the new classes are Wednesday morning Hand Embroidery workshops led by our Master hand stitcher, Judith. Every Wednesday a different technique and project will be offered. Among the techniques offered are Sashiko or Japanese Embroidery, Red-work and "Crazy Quilt" hand stitches. Shelley will be teaching art quilting workshops on some Thursdays and most Fridays in June. Again, different techniques and projects will be presented. Being offered this month are "Working with Angelina Fibers", "Paintstix on Fabric" and "Stamping on Fabric". If you would like to make a "Tulip" wall hanging or quilt like the picture above, there is a class scheduled on Saturday, June 5th. You will learn the ins and outs of fusible applique and machine embroidery. We have a tote bag class scheduled too! Bags are so fun and quick and easy to make using our gorgeous Kaffe Fassett or Amy Butler Fabric. And don't forget, you can sew at the shop every Tuesday for just $5. Use our sewing machines and air-conditioning! Don't forget your lunch! Call us at 802-824-5700 for more info. For our out-of-town customers we will be hosting a week long "Finishing School" in July. Dates to be announced. Lodging and the "Best Breakfast in Vermont" (Grandma Miller's bakegoods!) will be provided by the Colonial House Inn in Weston. Kim Seymour, InnKeeper and "Quilter Extraordinare" will feed and bed you down, and Shelley and Judith will provide stimulating quilting activities in a delightfully bright and cool classroom.
