| August 28, 2010 September Classes  Fall Leaves Wall Hanging- September 9th or 23rd, 10:30-2:30 pm. $20 plus Kit Fee. Beautiful fabric and easy construction make this a winner. You will be able to make 2 pillows with the extra fabric.  Beginning Quilt Making- "Cherrie Fizz"- Friday, September 10 and Thursday, the 30th- 1-5 pm. $20 per session. You may take one class or both. Supply List. You can make an easy log cabin style quilt in any colorway. You will learn rotary cutting, pressing and piecing skills.  Soup & Sew I &II- Beginner Garment Sewing, Wednesday Evenings, September 22nd and 29th- 5:30-8 pm. $20, A light supper will be served. Select a "Kwik Sew" pattern designed for new sewers and learn to sew an easy child's jumper or pajama pants in adult or child sizes. Reading a pattern, cutting and sewing skills will be taught. NEW! We have fine wale corduroy for the jumper and wonderful flannel and quilter's cottons for the pj bottoms.   Make this beauty in 1 of 2 colorways. Jason Yenter's "Holiday Wreath"-Saturday, September 25th, 10:30-4:30 $20/ plus Kit Fee. Learn the secrets of fussy cutting and fusible, machine applique with this gorgeous fabric line from "In the Beginning Fabrics". On Going Classes and events Sundays- Finishing School with an Instructor. 1-4 pm $15- Get help finishing those UFO's or finish class projects. Call Ahead to reserve a spot. No Finishing School on September 19th Tuesdays- Open Sewing- No Instructor. 10:30-3:30 pm. $5- Sew with friends and meet new ones. Call ahead to reserve a space or machine. Bring lunch, we have a fridge and a microwave. 2nd Saturday- September,11th.$5 Club/Sold Out 10:30 am Stash Pot Pie (Fee Varies) 11 am-4pm. Use your own stash to complete a quilt top. You will pre-cut your fabric. A delicious pie will be served for desert. This is a monthly program. You can sign up for 1 or more months. Bennington QuiltFest, September 18th and 19th, Mt Anthony Union Middle School Shop will be open regular hours. We will be vending at the show. Go to.... Bennington QuiltFest for more details and directions. 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge- Friday, September 24th. 1-4 pm Free- Help us sew pillowcases for local charities. We provide all materials and sewing machines. Call us at 802-824-5700 or stop by the shop to pick up a calendar and register for classes. We must have at least 3 sewers to hold a class. Please register early! We have sewing machines for you to borrow or you may bring your own. Please bring your basic sewing and quilting tools and supplies with you to all classes. This includes, rotary cutters, scissors, thread, pencil, paper,rulers, pins, seam ripper, glasses etc... We have irons and ironing boards, and cutting mats. August 21, 2010 What a fabulous party we had today at the Waterwheel House Quilt Shop. 20 of our 9 Patch Challengers joined us for a potluck luncheon and show and tell. The quilts were gorgeous and the food delicious. There must be a connection between sewing and cooking! I will have the pictures on this site tomorrow. |
