| December 21, 2011 More December Delights  Quilting Arts Magazine Calendar 2012- Cover Artist, Jill Packer, Chesham, UK. "Isabella Iguana". This is the best quilting art calendar we have seen to date! Each month displays a different 12"x12" embellished art quilt featuring the artist's pets. Amazing! We still have some in stock.  This is January by Nancy Brown, Oakland California. "Opie and Mittens Go Bird Watching" The calendar includes 2012 Quilt Show Listings.  These are probably the only snowballs we will be seeing here in Vermont before Christmas. Oh well, at least they won't melt. 3" Styrofoam balls for fabric decor. You can celebrate any holiday with these ornamental lovelies. Valentine's Day orbs will be next...  Gotta share this cool idea from Truddi Greene. A quilted hot plate. Inside is a tile that can be heated to keep food warm or used just to protect your table. Here is a back view...  The tile slides out of this neat pocket so you can wash your trivet. Zippers, zippers and more zippers. I just can't stop...  "Sew Many Creations" Zippered Trio" in Kaffe Fassett fabrics. Here is the lining on one of the bags...  It is so fun to pick out the coordinating colored zippers for each bag.  For my 5 year old niece, Olivia...Happy Birthday!  Love the inside! It is so nice to have a lined bag. Look what Steph A. made... and Andrew quilted...  Kaffe Fassett's fabric and pattern called "Bar Code"  Fantastic job! On the left is my "Lark" queen sized quilt on the design wall. It is upstairs being quilted as we speak...  My sweetie pie, Andrew (not the long arm)  The Vermont Shop Hop Passports are now in all participating shops! We fussy cut Robert Kaufman's "Holly Jolly Christmas" fabric to sew up a bunch. Here's a few more...  These look great with any fabric scraps, not only holiday.  Black Lab  Golden  Silly Kitty We have a new line of fabric just in... By Jane Sassaman, "Early Birds"  Got started right away on a quilt...  On the design wall- This pattern is from Blue Underground, called "Berkley Square". Love this big print...  We have this with a white background as well. Embellishments...  Lots of Holiday Buttons!  Holiday Cards.  Newest Books  These books are jammed packed with lots of cool quilts and blocks to make! We had a wonderful "Zipper Phobia" Class. Jessica Vandenburgh, from "Sew Many Creations" came and coaxed us thru the process of sewing zippers into bags. I made...  A trio of Zippered Pouches, using Jess's wonderful pattern. A grand time was had by all! Here are a few student's wonderful work...  Elizabeth's Pleated Wristlet using LouLouthi fabric by Anna Maria Horner. Very smart looking!  Happy, happy Nancy B. with her Pleated Wristlet. Inside is a shocking pink polka dot lining.  Mary C. and her trio of zippered pouches. We have zippers in all the coolest colors.  Shelley and Carlita with their zippered pouches. Both of us used "Silent Cinema" from Free Spirit by Jeneane Morrison. We were all so proud of our zippers! No more zipper phobia! We have a few more classes scheduled for December so check the website. www.waterwheelhouse.com We will be offering a special line up of classes the week after Christmas for you and your holiday guests to enjoy! Hope to see you soon. Please remember that we close at 4pm on Sundays in December and January. We will close early on Saturday, December 24th at 3 pm and will be closed on Christmas Day. We will also be closing early on Saturday, December 31st at 3 pm. We will be open on New Years Day and we will be offering some outstanding specials! Come and spend some time with us next year... on January 1, 2012! Can't believe that Christmas is only 12 Days away!
