| April 25, 2012 April Announcements! This is Anniversary Month around here! Andrew and I have been married for 18 years! I am now 61! The Waterwheel House Quilt Shop is 3! This should be an amazing decade! Now for some new stuff...look what I made!  I could not resist this bag on the cover of this wonderful book, "EveryDay Handmade" by Cassie Barden and Adrienne Smitke. We have all the makin's for this little tote. Buttons to cover...check, 100% natural Linen Fabric...check, gorgeous bright fabric scraps...check, "leather" bag handles...check, Decor Bond stabilizer...check, white perle cotton, check...! The most fun was covering the buttons!  I used Ty Pennington's latest fabric line from Free Spirit to make this lap size "PDQ" quilt. (Pattern is from Swirly Girls)  Gracie loves it!  This shot shows the straight line quilting a bit. New Fabric just in... Summerville from Moda. We have the whole collection in fat quarters and several bolts. It is just so darn cute! We will mix with Kona Solids in Orange, Green, Red , Gray, White and Turquoise.  Makes me want to get my fabric markers out and color.  love the turquoise!  And the green...  The orange and the red! This will be my next quilt! Great "Tourist Tote Bag" class today. 5 lovely ladies made 5 beautiful bags!  Everyone finished their bag! Watch for another tote bag class coming up in May.  Gracie...what a photo hound!  We have lots of new "Easy Peasy" table runner kits available for $15. This one uses the "Parson Gray" line by David Butler for Free Spirit.  We love our strawberries here at the WWHQS!  Philip Jacob's fabric makes a lovely runner.  Robin Red Breast!  Palladium by "Dear Stella" fabrics. Yum! You can call to order any Easy Peasy Kit. Well, gotta run! I need to get crack'n on the new Class Calendars for May and June. Funny, those are our kitties names, May and June!  This is May and this is ...  June...awwww! Hope to see you soon!
Shelley April 12, 2012 April's Abundance After a brief R&R, Andrew, Gracie and I are back at the shop. We have some exciting new fabrics just in...  From Quilting Treasures..."Goodnight Moon" based on the wonderful children's book, one of my boy's favorites when they were little. The line features a panel and coordinating prints. There is a free pattern with the purchase of fabric.  Also from Quilting Treasures...This alphabet panel and coordinating prints by Richard Scarey. My kids loved his books too! This line will make the young ones chuckle!  David Walker, for Free Spirit designed this line of woodland and farm animals. Blue pigs, pink squirrles, birdies and charming brown bears comprise this line called "Get Together".  These fabrics from Quilting Treasures takes the work out of strip piecing! The fabric is printed with 1 inch stripes and can be cut to make effortless rail fence blocks as well as a myriad of blocks that are made using strip sets! Imagine the possibilities!  Another Swirly Girls "Perfect 10" quilt using Kaffe Fassett fabrics has been kitted. The finished quilt is 60"x72" and costs $65.00.
