Early November

Waiting for Hurricane Sandy and making sure I have all my hand sewing projects in order...just in case! I might even draft a few wool Penny Rug patterns per many customer requests. With high winds expected on Tuesday, we may lose power at home and or the Shop. Anyway...I have lots of new items to share!

The most fun is opening and unrolling these gems!

Here are some finished quilts using the Kaffe pre cuts.

For this one I used a Kaffe 6" Design Roll in "Primary"

Just half square triangles set on point.

This sample uses a Kaffe jelly roll in the "Leafy" colorway. The pattern is free and downloadable. It's called "California Roll" We have copies at the shop.























Used a lime green "Dimples" for the accent strips and binding.

Another sample with new fabric "Plush Pup" from Michael Miller. This is the popular "Perfect Ten" pattern from Swirly Girls.

We have kits available for this lap size quilt.

Another view. Love the crayon colors, dots, spots and chevron stripes! This fabric line comes in a pink, girly colorway as well. Kits are available!

This is the "4 Hour Table Runner" Pattern by Virginia Robertson. I use Nel Whatmore's latest line from Free Spirit called "Katherine's Wheel"

This is a long runner, 57" long.

Gotta share a customer project here... She is using a Kim McLean Applique pattern using all Kaffe Fassett fabrics. This gal does only needle turn applique! Wow!

Our minds are boggled! What a talent. This is just the central medallion for a larger quilt.

Truddi Greene brought in this flannel baby quilt using our new "Bella" flannels..these look so great together...

Lovin' the lions..."Roar"

Jess Vandenburgh from "Sew Many Creations" taught her "Trendsetter Tote" class here on Friday. The ladies all finished their bags. Here you can see a peak of the linings. This bag has a zipper closure and inner zipper pocket...but if you know Jess, she makes zippers a breeze!

Straps and lining are Aboriginal Dots in silver. Love! Jess will be teaching this class again on Friday, November 30th. Call the shop to register! Jess will be teaching two more classes in November, The Diva Wallet and the Pleated or Ruffled Clutch Bag. Check the website for class descriptions, dates and times.

Alas... our 2012 Block of The Month Mystery Quilt has come to an end. Here are the pics of the finished quilts. First is the "Annie's Farmstand" version with fabric from LakeHouse.

Andrew will quilt your finished BOM top for $120 if you get it to him soon! That price is for the quilts as shown with no borders added. He is starting to back up and Christmas is coming. If you want your quilt done by the holidays hurry up and bring 'em in!

We are planning our new Block of The Month quilts now! Stay tuned for updates. Be assured it will have a very modern flavor. We may offer 3 different Block of the Month programs in 2013! Actually we have so many ideas it is hard to decide which to implement.

October Snippets

It's October and the leaves are gorgeous! Our $5 Club Block of the Month series is coming to a close next week and we are gearing up for the Holidays!

We have some new fabric just in from Quilting Treasures called "Sausalito" by Christine Graf. Here are a few of the prints.

Also from Quilting Treasures, "Garden Tails" Peter Rabbit and all his friends inhabit these darling prints. We have the pink colorway and the blue colorway.














We have the whole line, with blenders and free patterns to go with.

And from "Blend" Fabrics, more ideas for the kiddies!


Finished this sample of this fabric called "Little Monkey" Remember? The little monkey's that jumped on the bed? "One fell off and bumped his head...mama called the Doctor and the Doctor said..." That is the text print. I will be writting up this pattern ASAP!

Faith sewed up this stunning runner using the pattern from Mountain Peak Creations called "Divided By Three"

October Classes!

Jess Vandenburgh will be teaching a new class on Friday, October 26. Called the "Trendsetter Tote" this bag is a classic! Spots are limited so call to register ASAP! 802-824-5700.

We have a beginner class this month on Wednesday, October, 17th, "Easy Peasy" table runner. Learn the basics of making a quilt. You will learn how to measure and rotary cut your fabric, sew pieces together using a quarter inch seam, layer and quilt a small table runner. You can borrow one of our sewing machines and rent tools if you like to see if quilting is for you!















Here is an Easy Peasy Runner. Kits are available for the class in many fabric choices for $15.


Here is a great Autumnal Runner! You can make this!
On Wednesday, October 10th, is the "Holiday Herringbone" table runner. This is an advanced beginner class. Get a jump on your holiday sewing projects with this fun versatile project.
