Mid November

Whew...just returned from our Challenge Event, "Cut The sCRAPs" luncheon at the Town Hall in South Londonderry. The entries were amazing! These gals are so talented and creative, not to mention, excellent cooks! The purpose of this challenge was for participants to use up their stash by cutting scraps into three sizes of squares, 5 inch, 3 1/2 inch and 2 inches. 2 1/2 " strips were also allowed. Background fabric could be added as well as borders. Project could be any size. We had quilts, books, pillows, bags, placemats, wall hangings and more. Here is our group...

Watching the presentations...

We had a Viewers Choice Award...

Love the orange fabrics in the opposite corners!

And here were our First, Second and Third Place Winners. Each prize was a gift certificate to the Waterwheel House.

From left to right, Second Place, First place and Third Place Winners! It was so hard to pick the winners....all of the entries were wonderful. Stay tuned for our next Challenge which will be announced soon!

Another entry. You can see more on our Facebook Page.

Here are the latest arrivals...

Some new shop samples. This one uses all Martha Negley Fabric and the pattern, PDQ by Swirly Girls.

We have this available in a kit in any size.

Love the colors!

Also available as a kit.

Also available as a kit.

A beauty.

Snowman panel of three snowmen. You can make three wall hangings quickly. Great for gifts.

Fun to embellish too. This is fabric from Moda. These kits are on the website and you can call to order. waterwheelhouse.com

We have started making ornaments too. Here is one of my felt samples.

We also do white on red felt.

A wonderful new book just arrived and...We want to make all of these quilts!

A new ruler to make Hexagons easy.

This is from Julie Herman for Jaybird Quilts. Clever ways to make hexagon patterns.

And last but not least...a new set of rubbing plates from Cedar Canyon. I can't wait to play with these critters and my paint sticks.

We are planning our new Block of the Month Programs as well as a fabric by mail program which would entail sending out each month Charm Squares of our latest fabrics. We are still "kicking" ideas around.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving Holiday and we hope to see you soon! Remember to tell your Santa how much you would love to have a gift certificate to the shop as a present this year.

Happy Sewing!

Shelley
