| June 08, 2013 June Snippets  New Fabric by Martha Negley for Rowan Fabrics..."Rose Garden" Ah, so lovely!  Gorgeous full blown flowers and itty bitty buds. We have 12 fabrics in this collection.  Also just arrived, Aboriginal fabrics from Australia! Yep, we will continue to grow this line!  We have 13 bolts right now.   Watch for my quilt sample in the works!  One more shot of these beauties! We enjoyed a wonderful quilt show last weekend in Glens Falls New York. I selected as my "Vendor's Choice" this quilt by Laura Monthie.  "Justin's Quilt" "Kaffe Fassett" stripes, of course! This is hand quilted as well! Way to sew, Laura! Another favorite from the show..."A Few of My Favorite Things" by Lisa Fillion.  Love dresden plate blocks and look at all these polka dots! What a collection!  And by Nancy DiDonato, "Wash Day In Tokyo". How clever! It was a wonderful show! Now we are looking forward to The Vermont Quilt Festival June 28th thru the 30th. This will be our first time vending at this awesome event in Essex Junction.
After a very busy Spring, we have put our class schedule together for July. You can check out the dates, pictures and descriptions on the website. Here is a sampler of upcoming classes...  "Sail Away" a paper pieced wall hanging. Wednesday, July 10th 1-5 pm Learn to piece a new version of "Turning Twenty", Hopechest Treaures..Wednesday, July 17th 10:30-4:30 pm
 This is a "Log Cabin" variation! We are offering a real "Beginners" class on Wednesday, July 24th.
 Squares and rectangles make up this "PDQ" (pretty darn quick) quilt. This sample uses a "Dear Stella" line of fabric called "Portico". This would be a good class for anyone wishing to brush up on their piecing skills too! On Wednesday, July 30th come and sew up some nifty "Spiral" placemats and table toppers. These would make excellent gifts!
 These samples use our line from Moda, "Savonniere" by American Jane. Very "Pierre Deux" huh? On Saturday, July 6th, Debra and Linda will be teaching their "Fabric Beaded Necklace" class from 10- 4 pm.
 There will be kits for these and all you need to bring are some fabric scraps and basic sewing supplies! If you have any cool dangly thingies, bring those too! Judith will be teaching a "Yikes Stripe" class on Thursday, July 18th. Learn to tame those stripes...it is easy!
 Kits are available for this stunning lap or wall quilt. I will be teaching my "Vermont Maple Leaf" quilt...machine applique of course! Learn this easy technique or brush up on your stitching zig zag skills.
 This is a terrific scrap quilt too! The pattern is free for students and kits are available. Saturday, July 13th 10:30-4:30 pm. If you missed our Block of the Month club this time around...you can still "Swoon" along with us on Thursday, July 25th 1-4 pm. Learn the basics of this very cool and large block!
 This is the block and also our fabric combination for the month of June. I will also be teaching a class using a log cabin variation using a partial seam...never fear...this is easy!
 I love making these! This is called "Off The Rail" by Julie Herman. Judith will be teaching two tote bag classes, Thursday, July 11th, 1-5 pm or Saturday, July 27th, 1-5 pm. Learn all the basics for making a simple tote bag.
