| January 01, 2014 Happy New Year 2014 This coming April, Waterwheel House Quilt Shop will be 6 years old! We have many wonderful projects and events planned for 2014. The first big announcement is our new Block of the Month program that will begin the last week of January. If you are on my newsletter list you will be getting an email on January 1st with all of the details including pictures of the first two month's sections. The name of the quilt is called "Gypsy Wife" designed by the Aussie quilter, Jen Kingwell. It will be a 10 month program.  This is the first packet of fabrics participants will receive in January. It will come with all the necessary instructions, helpful hints and alternate piecing methods for the blocks. Judith, our BOM guru, has been working very hard to make sure you will get all the info you need to complete each section. (Love you to bits Jen, but your instructions are a little brief) So, we will be helping our USA quilters to better understand your methods.  This is section #1, (12"x20")completed. And section #2, (15"x20") below.  Each section contains traditionally pieced blocks, but in a very unique setting. Blocks vary in size within each section from 2 inches to 10 inches finished. The final size of the quilt is 59"x 68". The cost per month is $27.50, for 10 months. So what will you get for your money? Every month you will receive a curated fabric bundle selected from our newest fabric lines and the instructions plus Judith's helpful hints and supplemental photos. Instead of a single block per month you will complete a whole section. You will also get the pattern booklet imported from Australia (a $25 value). Included in the monthly cost is shipping and handling too! We have searched far and wide to offer our customers a truly unique BOM! We love this quilt and know you will too! If you are a "Swooner" (a participant in our 2013 BOM) you can just email me and I will put you on the list. We still have your mailing and CC# information on file. You will see a charge on your credit card each month for $27.50. If you are a newbie to our BOM programs, you will need to call the Shop to give us your mailing address and credit card number. 802-824-5700. This is a by mail only program. There is a window of opportunity for signing up for "Gypsy Wife". You will have until January 15th. We need to order the pattern booklets from Australia and will need some lead time. What else is new? I finally finished this quilt. Talk about precision piecing...whew!  This is called "Chain of Fools" and is also by Jen Kingwell Designs. We do have some of these patterns in stock and we will be making kits. Here is another view...  Andrew did a very interesting quilting pattern on this sample... Big Bubbles! Another finished quilt, and we have kits made for this one in stock.  Adventure Girls. The fabric is by Cori Dantini. The finished size of this quilt is 55"x72". It is super quick to make from panels.  One of the girls! The whole shebang...  Kit price is $62 and will be on the website shortly or you can call to order. Free shipping too! Here is some Vermont Shop Hop info... With the purchase of a $7 passport, you will get this free gift, a lovely quilting journal!  Our shop hop starts on Friday, March 20th and runs until Sunday, March 31st. All shops will be open 9am-6 pm daily during the Hop regardless of their regularly posted hours. There are 12 participating shops all over the state. There are big prizes and freebies plus lots of specials for our "Hoppers" Hope you can make it!
