| July 18, 2015 July Snippets Look who stopped by with their completed "Gypsy Wife" Quilt? Why it's Caroline B. who appliqued circles to the quilt top and extended the piecing beyond the borders. Great job Caroline! We have seen at least a dozen finished Gypsy Wife quilts from last years BOM. Have you finished yours? If so, email me a picture!  Just back from Bernina University where Andrew and I learned tons of new stuff. We are very excited about the new releases coming soon.  A 350 special edition will be released in January 2016. Bernina has partnered with Petfinders an organization that supports our furry friends. Part of the proceeds from the sale of these machines will go to support this organization. The faceplate design of this machine is yet to be determined but, paw prints are a possibility. This special edition will come with one piece feet and be equipped with the new walking foot, a quarter inch foot and a free motion foot! A great buy!  Another Special Edition B530 will be released for the Holidays. It has a red quilted motif on the faceplate and comes with a free travel suitcase!  A new edition to the 5 series is the 570QE. This machine replaces the 550Q machine and comes with a color touchscreen and the Bernina Stitch Regulator. This is a vast improvement in their navigation system. This machine is embroidery optional too! Our Holiday and Seasonal (Fall) fabrics are now in stock. It is not too early to start sewing those seasonal projects! Among our selections we have ...  Holiday Country Panel from Timeless Treasures plus all the coordinates for this line.  I have collected snow globes all my life...and just love this print! Here is a great pattern for panels...Sidelights...  Also from Timeless...  Blue Jays with all that gorgeous metallic silver and blue coordinates! Another gorgeous panel from Robert Kaufman.  Also from Robert Kaufman this delightful print...  And from Red Rooster Fabrics...     "Winter Celebration" by Sandy Clough. And from Blend Fabrics by Cori Dantini...Joy and Wonder  The large panel and smaller all over print...  So cute...plus here is a free pattern for the line. I made a sample that is hanging in the shop.  Fall Fabrics...  From Red Rooster this panel and project ideas...   From Robert Kaufman...Shades of the Season. We have the panel and coordinates to make this quilts.  Also these lovelies...from Robert Kaufman "Sounds of the Woods"  We have 2 colorways...  And a free pattern...  And another lovely panel from Timeless Treasures.  For Halloween...From Timeless Treasures, "Wicked"   And from Blend Fabrics, "Spooktacular"   Other new lines..."Natural History" by Lizzie House...   These butterflies are to die for! From Red Rooster...Happy Catz  With all the coordinates. We have Tim Holtz first fabric line too...  So graphic! We have started to collect "Grunge Fabrics" by Basic Grey they are so stunning!  We have the white and cream colors as well, they don't photograph well so come in and see! Call the shop to order any of these fabrics from the bolts. 802-824-5700 as some are not on the website yet. I am so enamored with "English Paper Piecing" and it all started with Lucy Boston...  These blocks are made with elongated hexagon paper templates. Here are some of my samples...  In Kaffe Fassett Fabric of course! Another really neat English Paper Piecing book is...  Here are a few of my samples. These can be sewn together "rosette" style to make larger blocks that can then be sewn together. If you are really crazy and like to hand sew tiny pieces together try this...  I have actually sewn together 2 rosettes, whew! There are pics on my facebook page so you can check them out. We hope to see you soon!
